United Way's 2022 annual Day of Action is June 21; a day dedicated to mobilizing community members to give, advocate, and volunteer for causes that are most pressing in their communities. In Yellowstone County, United Way of Yellowstone County and Family Promise are once again joining forces to host a Community Diaper Drive, benefiting the Community Diaper Bank (housed by Family Promise). The goal: to collect 30,000 diapers for Yellowstone County.

The Community Diaper Bank aims to provide assistance for families in Yellowstone Counties, not just with diapers, but with wipes, formula, and other needed supplies. The demand for diaper assistance increased from 90,000 in 2020 to 300,000 in 2021 in Yellowstone County. Families are able to receive assistance from the Community Diaper Bank up to six times per year.

United Way is dedicated to promoting the health of the community as well as setting up children and families for successful lives making their connection to Family Promise and the Community Diaper Bank essential as they aim to better lives for all in Yellowstone County. UWYC’s continued partnership with Family Promise allows them to ensure the youngest community members have the access to products that will give them the best and healthiest start to life.

Leading up to this year's United Way Day of Action, all seven branches of Western Security Bank will be collecting donations for the drive. From June 13 to June 17, staff and patrons of the bank are encouraged to donate diapers of any size, along with wipes, which will be donated to the Community Diaper Bank. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to host their own diaper drives, bringing their collections during the event.

The Community Diaper Drive is on June 21, 2022 from 12-5:30pm at the United Way office (2173 Overland Avenue). The goal is 30,000 diapers, which provides approximately one month supply to families in need in our community. Diapers of all sizes, wipes, and monetary donations are accepted. It's important to note that the Community Diaper Bank is able to purchase three diapers for the cost of one, making monetary donations just as valued as physical donations.
