Stories and Songs for Life: An Afternoon of Country Music for a Cause

by Brooke Wagner

Local country music sensation Almeda Bradshaw is set to light up the stage at LaVie Health this Saturday, bringing her signature blend of heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies to the community. In a concert entitled “Stories and Songs for Life,” Bradshaw joins with special guest Jess Arndt, another local star and rising singer/songwriter. Bradshaw is well known for her authentic storytelling and vibrant performances and has gained popularity across Montana in her many years of performing at venues big and small. This concert promises to be a memorable evening for fans of all ages!

Bradshaw’s music captures the essence of rural life, resonating deeply with listeners who appreciate its relatable themes. Throughout her childhood and into her adult life, Almeda has been a cowgirl through and through. After studying cello and piano in college, she grew into an accomplished self-taught guitar, mandolin, and stringed instrument player. The poetry and songs she began writing in her teenage years are woven throughout her performances. Combined with her other original creations, she has performed at cowboy gatherings throughout the West for nearly two decades. Bradshaw’s music is a unique blend of old-school influences and modern-day cowgirls, with hints of bluegrass, spirituals, and folk music.

Special guest Jess Arndt is a musician and accomplished artist who ropes cowboy themes into custom western decor pieces. As a songwriter, many of the songs she pens focus on mental health, including the recently released “Burn It Down.” The two combine at Sunday’s concert to bring their style to LaVie, where attendees can look forward to an afternoon filled with music and community spirit.

LaVie Health, an early pregnancy center known for its commitment to community events, is excited to host this concert at their brand-new state-of-the-art facility at 2501 4th Avenue N in Billings. LaVie Health provides no or low-cost essential medical services and focuses on engaging in their local community. Through this partnership, all funds raised by the concert will be donated directly to LaVie to support their mission. Space is limited, so attendees are asked to R.S.V.P. directly to Bradshaw at (406) 855-8191. Bradshaw invites concertgoers to attend and “stop in and see what an amazing facility this community of people have built” in LaVie. She says, “Jess and I will be sharing songs and stories about our lives and our experiences from the heart and FOR the heart.”

Bradshaw reflects, “I've recently hung up my ‘road life’ because I want to focus on connecting more with my family and friends, my church and community, and giving back to Billings.” LaVie Health is an organization near and dear to her heart.

“I trust that by sharing my journey in stories and songs, I can make a difference in life.” Almeda Bradshaw
