Tucked in a growing corner of Billings Heights, 105 Brewing is more than a brewery. It's a bold answer to something new in the heights: a vibrant, community-focused space where neighbors gather, stories are shared, and all are welcome.

Founded by longtime friends and Heights natives, 105 Brewing blends craft beer, specialty sodas, and locally roasted coffee under one stylish roof. The concept might have puzzled folks at first. "Before we opened, people were apprehensive. Coffee and beer? Together?" said Travis, 105's brewmaster. "But once they saw what we were doing, it made sense.

That intention is woven into everything 105 Brewing does. The space is bright, open, and welcoming, and the offerings are as diverse as the crowd. Need an afternoon pick-me-up? Grab a latte. Bringing a friend who doesn't drink? Try the Ninja Ginger soda, a spicy-sweet blend of ginger ale, coconut cream, and sriracha. Craving something stronger? Travis has you covered.

We wanted a place where everyone, regardless of what they drink, can feel comfortable."

A seasoned brewer with over 20 years of experience, Travis built his foundation on the Oregon coast, sharpened his skills in Montana, and has racked up international beer medals along the way. But he is especially proud of an IPA, which he calls the "Sassy Bandit." "IPAs are tough," he admits. "I've brewed a lot over the years, but this one, this one I'm proud of." And this fall, he's rolling out a new creation just in time for the changing season: a Scotch-style Scottish Lager, brewed from scratch and fermented on-site.

But what sets 105 Brewing apart isn't just what's in your glass. It's the people behind it and the purpose driving it. "Yes, we're a coffee shop. Yes, we're a brewery. But more importantly, we're a community venue," Travis says. "Our goal is to be that third space, not work, not home, where people can gather, connect, and be known." That mission is reflected in their calendar of events, which includes fundraisers for local sports teams and nonprofit nights supporting organizations such as United Way and Chase Hawks. And beyond nonprofits, 105 Brewing opens its doors to bridal showers, baby showers, trivia nights, and weddings. "I spend most Mondays just sorting through event requests," Travis laughs. "But it's building a foundation for something lasting."

Sourcing matters here, too. Nearly all of 105's grain comes from Gallatin Valley Malt Company in Manhattan, Montana, a family-run operation with deep roots. While local hops are harder to come by, Travis continues to seek out Montana partners, determined to keep things close to home. And he doesn't stop at brewing. Collaboration is a core value that extends to food trucks, local artists, musicians, and even students. "We want to be a venue where high school choirs can perform, where painters can showcase their work,” he explains.

As Billings continues to grow, 105 Brewing stands as a reminder that great beer, bold ideas, and meaningful community don't have to be mutually exclusive. And as Travis puts it, "Billings might look a little rusty and industrial from the outside, but once you get inside, it's one of the friendliest places you'll find." So, whether you're craving coffee, beer, or simply connection, 105 Brewing is ready to welcome you.
