St. John's 2020 Summer Concert Series Cancelled

May 29, 2020 |

Another summertime staple has fallen victim to the COVID-19 pandemic, as St. John's United has announced the cancellation of its 2020 Summer Concert Series, a mainstay for 22 years. This decision to cancel was made with the utmost concern for the safety of everyone - from residents and employees to guests and entertainers.

For the past 22 years, Thursday evenings have been filled with the music of this free concert series, though in its beginning, 100 fans was the norm, now with over two decades under its belt, it's not uncommon for 2,000 guests to take in the sights, sounds, food, and festivities. St. John's United summer concerts happen as a result of the kind and generous support of a multitude of sponsors and volunteers.

The 2020 season was scheduled to launch June 25 at Wyndstone with Almeda Bradshaw opening and Wylie & The Wild West headlining.

St. John's United's cancellation notice states that "Although unable to provide the gift of music this summer, we joyfully anticipate doing so next summer. In the meantime, good health to you and yours."
