Nutella Ravioli

I went to the grocery store today,  my youngest two sons in tow.  Let me just tell you that shopping with a four-year old and a 1-year old could be compared to a root canal with ZERO anesthetic!   As I sped through the peanut butter aisle, I spied a jar, a jar filled with a creation so wonderful, it should carry a warning label—May cause extreme giddiness and intense drooling.

I am talking about Nutella, my friends….oh the creamy, chocolate goodness.   I could taste it as I stood transfixed in aisle four.  A kick to my shin from the 4-year old snapped me out of my reverie.  I remembered a recipe I had seen several weeks ago, and decided then and there, that I was going to reward myself for suffering through grocery shopping with two little boys!

I never let myself buy this wonderful treat, simply because I will eat it by the spoonful without thought of the effect it will have on my thighs!  Rather than eat the entire jar, I made something even better!  Nutella Ravioli……simple, quick, and Oh My Gosh, fantastic! Are you ready to have your life changed by a recipe; well hold on, here we go!  Are ya ready, are ya?  Ok.........

Nutella Ravioli--

{Nutella, crescent rolls, cinnamon/sugar and a little non-stick spray}

Open the crescent rolls, and roll them out flat; pinching the seams closed as you roll.

After you get the dough rolled out, and calm your heart rate down to a normal level {don't you just hate having to pop those tubes of dough?  Every time I open them, I jump.  Every.  Stinking.  Time.} Use a round cookie cutter or the bottom of a glass and cut out as many circles of dough as you can, re-rolling the dough until you've used it all.

When you get all of the circles cut out, take a spoon full of Nutella and put it in your mouth, breathe deeply and savor the moment.....ok, now back to work.  Take a CLEAN spoon, and put a blob of Nutella on half of the circles!

Take another circle and place it over the dab of Nutella, and crimp the edges.  After the dough is sealed, drop a few of the ravioli's into the cinnamon sugar mixture and swirl them around.

After the ravioli are covered in cinnamon & sugar, toss 'em on a cookie sheet and bake at 375° for 11-13 minutes.

When they're done baking.  Set them on a plate, and give them at least a minute to cool before inhaling them!  If you choose not to wait for them to cool a bit, be warned.......the Nutella is the temperature of molten lava, and your tongue will possibly fall out of your mouth!
