YVAS to Hold Check Your Chip Event @ Ziggy's parking lot

On Saturday, June 27 Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter is holding a "Check Your Chip" event in the Ziggy's parking lot (1760 Monad Road) from 9am-12pm. YVAS staff will be on hand to scan animals for existing microchips and to offer $20 microchipping for animals without chips. (No appointments necessary!)

If you're on the fence about microchipping your pet, YVAS Outreach Coordinator Tiffany Smith, explains that more pets go missing on July 4 than any other day of the year, due to fireworks. This event aims to help people protect their pets with proper identification, in case they become lost on July 4, or any other day of the year. Smith, reminds us, "Collars and tags can fall off, but microchips are permanent."
