Halloween Class Party Treat Ideas

Halloween is one of the most exciting times of the year for children. Costumes, candy, and class parties! (Did I mention candy?)
There are so many ways you can turn classic snacks and appetizers into haunting Halloween treats for the class party. Here are a few of our ideas…
First off, always remember to check with the teacher to find out if any students have allergies to a certain food. Common allergens are dairy, soy, gluten, and tree nuts. If they do, either make all of the treats safe for them, or set aside a few that are and very clearly mark which ones are allergen-friendly.
Talk to the teacher about the severity of the allergy before moving ahead with your decision (some kids can’t even be around peanuts without having a reaction!)
Also, be very careful when preparing the treats and sanitize the area where allergens were present thoroughly before preparing the allergen-friendly alternatives......................
1. Scary Spiders
To make a scary spider you will need a piece of round (or roundish) chocolate candy for the body. A mini Snickers or Twix would work just fine. You will also need some melted chocolate for attaching the legs and eyeballs, two pretzels for the body, and a couple of small red candies for eyes.
Start off by setting some chocolate to melt. In the microwave or over the stove is fine, either way you will only need a little bit of melted chocolate. Next, break off the long, rounded portions of the pretzels to create spider “legs.”
Once your chocolate is melted, you can begin assembling. Use the melted chocolate to attach the legs on the sides of the candy and the two red “eyes” on top of the candy. Set them in the fridge to cool, and you’re all set! You have a creepy, crawly, and yummy Halloween treat!
2. Frightening Fruit
These are two recipes that are friendly to all the common allergens! Dairy, soy, gluten, and nuts are not a problem with a "pumpkin" orange and a banana ghost. To make the pumpkin orange all you need is a peeled orange (or clementine) and a piece of green pepper. Simply pop a little piece of green pepper into the center of the orange so that it looks like a little green “stem.” So simple!
With the banana ghost you may need to do a little bit of searching to find some chocolate chips that do not contain the allergen in question, or you can use raisins as a safe alternative.
The banana ghost is super simple too. All you need is three chocolate chips, and half of a banana. Stick two chocolate chips on the banana for eyes, and one for the mouth (make sure the chocolate chips have the circular bottom facing outwards), and boom! You have an adorable, allergy-friendly, and yummy treat.
3. Mad Mummies
Mad mummies are a delicious and easy snack to bring to a Halloween classroom party. All you need is some mini hot dogs (or regular-sized hot dogs if you’re being bold) some crescent roll dough, and edible eyes if you choose to add them.
All you do is stretch the crescent roll dough so that you have a long, thin dough and wrap it around the hot dog. Make sure there is some overlapping and a small space for the “face” so that it looks like a mummy. Cook according to crescent roll directions and serve with ketchup, AKA, blood.
So, there you have it! Some fun, spooky Halloween treats to bring to your little one’s Halloween party. With a little bit of planning and creativity, your kiddo’s Halloween party will be a scary, and yummy, good time.
