3rd Annual Rocky Mountain Kid Lit Festival Returns to BPL

May 1, 2024

Back for a third (supersized) year, Billings Public Library's Rocky Mountain Kid Lit Festival connects young readers with published authors and illustrators. Presented by BPL, with funding provided by Humanities Montana through grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and Writers' Voice, the Festival runs May 6-11, 2024.

The week kicks off with daily story times that feature local authors and illustrators on May 6-10. Saturday, May 11 offers interactive sessions for kids of all ages where the kids will have the opportunity to meet and learn from published writers and illustrators. The entire event is free and open to the public.

“Our society thrives from the stories we share with each other, and this festival celebrates storytelling in aspects of both written and visual mediums. Children of all ages are given an opportunity to learn more about the storytelling process while enjoying the stories being shared. Montana is fortunate to have incredible storytellers who are willing to share their expertise with the next generation of storytellers.
Gavin Woltjer, Library Director
