Healthy-ish Apple Brownies

These apple brownies have been re-worked to take out fat and add more of the "Eat 5 to Stay Alive" fruits/veggies we all need... but your family will never know! Super easy and very delicious! :)

2 tbs butter, softened

½ cup applesauce

¾ cup brown sugar

¾ cup white sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

¾ cup flour

¾ cup whole wheat flour

2 tbs ground flaxseed

2 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

1 cup finely chopped apples

1 cup chopped nuts (we like almonds or walnuts)

1 cup finely shredded and drained zucchini

1. Preheat oven to 350

2. Cream together butter, applesauce, eggs and vanilla

3. Add flours, baking powder and salt; stir in apples, nuts and zucchini

4. Spread into greased 8x8x2 baking pan

5. Bake 40-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center is clean
